1. Quickness. Many people think quickness and speed are the same. A volleyball player does not need the speed of a sprinter, but being able to react quickly is a big plus.
2. Vertical Jump. All things being equal, a volleyball player that can jump higher than an opponent has a large advantage. Being able to leap up to hit a ball before your opponent does can enable you to win more points.
